About Me

A little bit about me, my hobbies and my career as a software developer.

About me
@ Pavilhão Japonês, Ibirapuera Park - São Paulo - SP

Hello! I’m Diogo Moreira. I was born in 1989. I’m from Paraíba, Brazil and I currently live and work here.

I enjoy playing video games, specially RPGs and racing games. Some of my favorite games are the Final Fantasy series. Check out some of the games I’ve played in this list.

When it comes to movies and TV shows, I like to watch drama and sci-fi. Check out some movies I’ve watched lately and what I’m currently watching here.

Even though I don’t read as much as I would like, I enjoy reading science fiction books. Foundation series by Isaac Asimov is one of my favorites. Check some of the books I’ve read in this list.

I used to draw a lot when I was a kid, but I haven’t done it in a while. I want to get back to it someday.

I collect music on physical media (specifically CDs and vinyl). Check out my collection. Collecting music is a hobby that I really enjoy, and I have a pretty diverse collection. I also like to discover new artists and genres, and I often find myself adding new albums to my collection, but I have a soft spot for Indie and Punk Rock. I went to more than 100 concerts and I’m aiming for 200. Music festivals and concerts are definitely something that makes me feel alive. I often recommend some albums I enjoy in the picks section, but you can also check out my recent listens for more.

When it comes to sports, I’m a big fan of soccer. I support São Paulo FC, but I also enjoy watching other teams and leagues. I’ve been following Formula 1 since 2021 and lately, I’ve been trying to keep up with tennis tournaments as well.

As software developer

Since I was a kid I was fascinated by technology and specially computers. I got my first PC at home when I was 6 and since then, I spent most of my days doing something in front of it. Eventually, I started to become curious about how computers work and specially how the webpages were built, which led me to build my very first website when I was 13 and I guess it was at this moment that I decided this would be my career. I’ve learned the very basics of PHP and MySQL by myself and started to work as a freelancer when I was around 16~17. At that time, I had the chance to work with some personal pages and small businesses websites.

Later, I’ve decided to start my undergraduation in System Analysis and Development a kickoff my professional career as software developer. But I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t make this decision if it wasn’t my previous experience and my curiosity about computers throughout these yers. Two years after my graduation (2014), I started working as professor and honestly, this is one of the things that I’m most proud of during my career. It’s good to be in the classroom and I feel it really pushes me to be a better person and professional every day. You can see my academic achievements in this page.

This is an overview of who I am. You can get to know me better through the things I like and what I’m doing right now. Feel free to drop me a message in any of my social media profiles, I’ll be glad to reply.
