About me
A little bit about me, my hobbies and my career as a software developer.

Hello! I’m Diogo Moreira, born in 1989 in Paraíba, Brazil, where I still live and work today.
Some things that catch my attention
- Video games, especially RPGs and racing games. The Final Fantasy series is among my favorites. You can see some of the games I’ve played in this list.
- Drama/sci-fi movies and TV shows. If you’re curious, check out movies I’ve watched lately or see what I’m currently watching here.
- Science fiction books. The Foundation series by Isaac Asimov is a personal favorite. You can find some of the books I’ve read in this list.
- Drawing, though it’s been a while since I last picked up a pencil. I hope to get back to it someday.
- Music, I’m also a collector of music on physical media — mainly CDs and vinyl. You can browse my collection to see some of the records I own. Discovering new artists and genres is something I really enjoy, and my collection is always growing, though I have a particular love for Indie and Punk Rock.
- Concerts. I’ve attended over 110 concerts, according to my setlist.fm profile, and am aiming for 200. Music festivals and concerts are experiences that truly make me feel alive. I often share album recommendations in the picks section, and you can also check out my recent listens.
- Sports. When it comes to sports, I’m a big soccer fan and support São Paulo FC, but I also enjoy following other teams and leagues. Since 2021, I’ve been into Formula 1, and lately, I’ve been keeping up with tennis tournaments as well.
As software developer/professor
Since I was a kid I was fascinated by technology and especially computers. I got my first PC at home when I was 6 and since then, I’ve spent most of my days doing something in front of it.
Eventually, I started to become curious about how computers work and especially how webpages were built, which led me to build my very first website when I was 13 (using <table> and without CSS 🙃) and I guess it was at this moment that I decided this would be my career. I’ve learned the very basics of PHP and MySQL by myself and started to work as a freelancer when I was around 16–17. At that time, I had the chance to work with some personal pages and small businesses websites.
Later, I’ve decided to start my undergraduate degree in System Analysis and Development to kick off my professional career as a software developer. But I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t make this decision if it weren’t for my previous experience and my curiosity about computers throughout these years.
Two years after my graduation (2014), I started working as a professor and honestly, this is one of the things that I’m most proud of during my career. It’s good to be in the classroom and I feel it really pushes me to be a better person and professional every day. You can see my academic achievements here.
This is an overview of who I am. You can get to know me better through the things I like and what I’m doing right now. Feel free to drop me a message in any of my social media profiles, I’ll be glad to reply.
