About me
A little bit about me, my hobbies and my career as a software developer.
Last Updated August 2, 2026

Hello! I’m Diogo Dantas Moreira, born in Cajazeiras/PB, Brazil, where I still live and work today.
I’m passionate about music. I’m always listening to something new and I try my best to stay open to new artists and genres. I recently started my physical media collection and it’s been a fun hobby (even if a bit of an expensive one). I’ve been to over 100 concerts, and that’s easily one of my favorite things to do.

I’m a football (soccer for my US visitor 😅) fan. I support São Paulo FC, and over the last few years I’ve been following other sports as well, like Formula 1 and tennis (which I’ve also been trying to play).
I’m fascinated by video games. Even though I spend very little time on them these days, every now and then one shows up that catches my attention and keeps me hooked for weeks or months. Japanese RPGs are particularly my thing.
I once thought about becoming an artist, since drawing was something I’ve enjoyed doing on and off in my free time since I was a kid, but it’s been a while since I made time to practice.
I like reading science fiction, though I admit I read far less than I’d like to.
I enjoy a good conversation about anything, a beer every now and then, and above all, travelling.
How I ended up in IT
Since I was a kid I’ve always been fascinated by technology, and especially by computers. I got my first PC in 1996, a Pentium II 233MHz with 8MB of RAM ) and since then I’ve spent a good part of my days doing something in front of it and its successors.
Over time, and with my first experiences on the internet, in 2001 I started getting curious about how things were built, which led me to two experiences during my teenage years that I consider relevant:
- Building my first website at 13, in the old Microsoft Frontpage
(using
<table>and without CSS 🙃). I learned the basics of PHP and MySQL from a few tutorials on the internet and started working as a freelancer around the age of 16–17. Back then, I had the chance to work on personal pages and small business websites, which was pretty common at the time. - Building a game in RPG Maker 2000. With the help of my older brother and some assets we grabbed from an RPG Maker CD-ROM of that era, we created a simple game with plenty of inspiration from some of the RPGs we were playing at the time. It was fun, and I got to learn a lot about algorithms.
At the end of high school I wanted to study Design, but I ended up doing Advertising for 2 terms and Telecommunications for 1 term until I landed in Systems Analysis and Development, where I finally found my place.
The rest of that story you can find on my work or academic pages.
This is an overview of who I am. If you’re after the professional side, see work and academic . You can also get to know me better through the things I like and what I’m doing right now . Feel free to drop me a message in any of my social media profiles, I’ll be glad to reply.
